Synopsis When completed the project will braid music, poetry, space-travel visuals and our character’s mental health challenges in a fablesque animal-character-story-world. These elements will fuse into loose inter-connected visual stories about trying to overcome mental health challenges in our isolated times. A central metaphor of the project is that the mental struggles astronauts must overcome while travelling alone on long distant missions are not unsimilar to the mental health challenges many of us face in our isolating lifestyle here on Earth.
The poem is partially inspired by John Donne and how he sometimes uses scientific metaphors as a means to illuminate personal circumstances. The visual approach is inspired partially by Aesop's Fables wherein animal characters help to universalize insights into human nature.

As a media maker I use very traditional documentary filmmaking practices, more expressive techniques, or a mixture of both. I think this tendency probably has to do with my normal experience of the worldIn life, I often experience the world in a highly subjective, somewhat volatile and emotional, in-my-own-head state -- but this is often balanced with a view that is more reflective, birds-eye-view quality of a neutral party. So, these two approaches, highly subjective and somewhat neutral, are both true to my own lived experience. Also, I think trying to conjure subjective states sonically and visually helps me get at the heart of important issues through the lens of personal stories and experiences, which I think is the most powerful way to tell stories.
