DANGER OF DEATH

“Daredevils in the water. Hesitation on the shore. In a refreshing poetry film.

On a hot summer day, I saw something special in a park. I pulled out my smartphone and filmed the scene for ten minutes. In a simple montage, I wrote a poem to accompany it. Before I knew it, I had something that became more than the parts separately: a calm mixture of footage and text, in which one can feel the tension a) between 'courageously persevering against the wild current' and 'letting yourself drift along nicely' and b) between the hesitant, doubting outsider and the daredevils in real life.’’ Paul Bogaert
